Cleethorpes man charged with terrorism offences

A 25-year-old man from Cleethorpes has been charged with terrorism offences after an investigation by counter-terrorism police.

Mohammed Mahfuz Ahmad, of Crowhill Avenue, is charged with disseminating terrorist publications and encouraging terrorism.

According to Counter Terrorism Policing, Mr Ahmad was arrested on Thursday with the support of Humberside Police. Two properties were searched, officers said.

Mr Ahmad is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
