Clarence Hill’s 2022 Season-Opening NFL Power Rankings:

1. Los Angeles Rams: The same old Rams are absolutely still the best team in the NFL.

2. Buffalo Bills: The Bills would have reached the Super Bowl last year if not for the old OT rules

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Will 45-year old Tom Brady ride off into the sunset with another ring?

4. Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals went to the Super Bowl and got better with an upgraded line.

5. Kansas City Chiefs: The loss of Tyreek Hill is huge. Pat Mahomes keeps them title hunting.

6. Green Packers: As long as Aaron Rodgers is there, the Packers will contend for the Super Bowl.

7. San Francisco 49ers: The defense is stout and playmakers are plentiful. Do you trust the quarterback?

8. Tennessee Titans: Derrick Henry gives them a chance but Ryan Tannehill remains a question.

9. Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray got his money. Now can he lead the Cardinals to a strong finish.

10. Denver Broncos: Russell Wilson has solved the Broncos QB woes, putting them in thick of strong AFC West

11. Las Vegas Raiders: A new coaching staff and the best WR in the NFL has Raiders thinking about past glory.

12. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert is as talented as any QB in the NFL. He needs to show it in the playoffs.

13. Baltimore Ravens: With John Harbough and Lamar Jackson, the Ravens will remain playoff contenders.

14. Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles are loaded everywhere but at QB. Jalen Hurts is a huge question mark.

15. Dallas Cowboys: Are the Cowboys asking too much of Dak Prescott with questions at WR and offensive line?

17. Indianapolis Colts: The Colts have a strong running back and a stout defense. Does Matt Ryan have any MVP magic left?

18. New Orleans Saints: Sean Payton is gone but the Saints have playoff pieces if QB Jameis Winston can avoid mistakes.

19. Pittsburgh Steelers: It’s hard to count out Mike Tomlin but this Steelers team has no quarterback and no hope.

20. New England Patriots: Bill Belichick is finding out what life looks like without Tom Brady. It’s not pretty.

21. Cleveland Browns: The Browns have been playing for 2023 ever since they signed Deshaun Watson.

23. Carolina Panthers: No coach is on a bigger hot seat than Matt Rhule and Baker Mayfield is no savior.

25. New York Giants: A new coach will find out what the last one realized: Daniel Jones is not the answer at QB.

27. Jacksonville Jaguars: Urban Meyer is gone. It’s time for QB Trevor Lawrence to live up expectations as No. 1 overall pick.

28. Houston Texans: The best thing the Texans did in the off season was trade Deshaun Watson. Still a bad team.

29. Chicago Bears: QB Justin Fields will be running for his life again. Roster remains years away.
