Will There Be a 'Claim to Fame' Season 3?

Season 2 of Claim to Fame ends tonight, and after besting 11 other contestants with secret celebrity relatives, one star finally took home the $100,000. In Season 2 we saw Tom Hanks' niece have a meltdown, Jimmy Carter's grandson break down in tears and absolutely no one have a clue who Donny Osmond was. But now Season 2 has come to and end, we need to know: will there be a Season 3, and if so, when will the show be coming back?

Here's everything we know about Season 3 of Claim to Fame

Will there be a Season 3 of Claim to Fame?

As of August 2023, ABC has yet to announce if Claim to Fame will be back for a third season. However, the show did well in the ratings and created several viral moments online, so it seems likely that it will be renewed. Also, as the writers and actors continue to strike, networks are relying on reality TV much more heavily. This is a fairly easy show to produce so we could see Season 3 rushed into production if the strikes continue.

When will Season 3 of Claim to Fame premiere?

We still don't know if there will be a Season 3 of Claim to Fame, but if there is, it will likely premiere in late June/early July of 2024. Season 1 premiered July 11, 2022 and Season 2 began on June 26, 2023. However, given the WGA and SAG strikes, its possible Season 3 could arrive sooner as networks scramble to find content that doesn't involve acting or writing talent.

How do I watch Claim to Fame Season 3?

Season 3 will likely air on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu as was the case with Seasons 1 and 2, but we don't know for sure.

How does Claim to Fame work?

If Season 3 works like Seasons 1 and 2, 12 celebrity relatives are all put in a house together and are instructed to keep their famous relative's identity a secret. Each week the contestants must compete in challenges—that often include clues as to the celebrity's identity. The winner of the week's challenge gets immunity and an additional clue about another houseguest.

This, however, is where the strategy comes into play. The two losers of the challenge are nominated to be that week's "Guesser." The remaining contestants vote on which of the two losers they want to be the Guesser. The Guesser must then single out another player from the cast and guess their celebrity relative. If the Guesser guesses correctly, then the person they revealed is sent home. However, if the Guesser guesses incorrectly, their own celebrity relative is revealed and they are sent home instead. It sounds kind of complicated, but it's way more simple when you actually watch the show.
