City of Athens replaces fountain pump at Big Spring Memorial Park

Apr. 16—The city of Athens put the "spring" back in Big Spring on Monday, April 8.

City utilities started work to replace the broken pump in the fountain at Big Spring Memorial Park, better known as "The Duck Pond" to most residents, early Monday afternoon.

This was to replace the previous fountain pump that had recently stopped working.

Cemetery, parks and recreation director Bert Bradford confirmed that the fountain is running again mid-afternoon.
