The Cincinnati Reds are discussing trade possibilities involving second baseman Jonathan India with three or four other Major League Baseball teams, according to a report Thursday night via Twitter from MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

Morosi added that talks are described as active, but no deal is imminent.

India, the 2021 National League Rookie of the Year, was the subject of a trade rumor in July, but The Enquirer's Gordon Wittenmyer reported that it was vastly overstated. Nevertheless, India took a day off to "control his emotions."

India, who got engaged in August, hit .244 with 17 homers, 61 RBIs and 14 stolen bases in his third season with the Reds.

He hit 13 of his 17 HRs before the break, and went on the injured list in late July because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot.
