Morning, folks. It’s your local history guide, Jeff Suess.
I love Cincinnati’s murals. They spruce up the city’s buildings with colors and creative expression. But one of the best things about them is their connection to our history. From canal boats to Kenner toys. And they invite us to learn more about the subject matter.
Take the ginormous mural across from the Duke Energy Convention Center for instance. It features portraits of 10 of Cincinnati’s most influential musicians: James Brown, Doris Day, the Isley Brothers.
Yet, even with all my years of researching the Queen City’s past, a few of the names were unfamiliar to me. And one I needed help even identifying. So I did a little research.
