The Clovis North and McLane high school boys soccer teams played for the CIF Northern California regional championships on Saturday.
Clovis North went on the road to face Davis in a battle of undefeated teams, but the Broncos lost 1-0 in the Division I championship.
Davis’ Simon Vaca-Lorenzi scored the winning goal in the 65th minute.
The Broncos finished the season 26-1-1. They won the Central Section Division I championship with a 3-1 victory over Ridgeview.
Clovis North got to the NorCal title game with wins over Vintage-Napa and Mountain View.
McLane, meanwhile, hosted the regional championship, but lost to Terra Linda-San Rafael 2-0 in Division III.
The Highlanders had two opportunities to cash in on a penalty kick, but couldn’t get the ball past Jesse Rodriguez
McLane ends the season at 22-7-3. The Highlanders won the Division III section championship with a 3-2 win over Chavez.
The Highlanders advanced to the NorCal final with wins over Lincoln-San Jose and Las Lomas-Walnut Creek.
