When are Christmas parades and boat parades in Stuart, Vero Beach, Fort Pierce and more?

It's the most wonderful time of the year — for holiday parades.

Throughout the month of December, Christmas parade floats will shut down streets in Stuart, Hobe Sound, Indiantown, Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Vero Beach and Sebastian.

Plus, boats adorned with Christmas lights will cruise the Indian River Lagoon and St. Lucie River.

More vessels have registered for the Christmas boat parades this year, said Marine Industries Association of the Treasure Coast Executive Director Justin Beard. Parade routes have changed from previous years, and the routes may change again because of weather conditions.

Here's when and where to find the best Christmas parades and holiday boat parades in Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties.

Stuart Christmas Parade

  • Start time: 7 p.m. Dec. 1

  • Parade route: Ocean Boulevard from Monterey Road to Georgia Avenue

Hobe Sound Christmas Parade

  • Start time: 1 p.m. Dec. 2

  • Parade route: Dixie Highway from Venus Street to Bridge Road, turns on Hercules Avenue to end at J.V. Reed Park

Vero Beach Christmas Parade

  • Start time: 6 p.m. Dec. 2

  • Parade route: Ocean Drive and Silver Palm Drive from Flamevine Lane to Live Oak Road

Port St. Lucie Parade of Lights

  • Start time: 6 p.m. Dec. 2

  • Parade route: Indian Mound Drive and Warfield Boulevard from Big Mound Park to Post Family Park

  • Parade route: Indian River Drive from Main Street to Riverview Park

  • Start time: 4 p.m. Dec. 3

  • Parade route: Second Street from Tickle Tummy Hill to Orange Avenue, turns east to Indian River Drive, turns north to River Walk Center

St. Lucie County Christmas Boat Parade

  • Start time: 6 p.m. Dec. 9 (assembles 5:30 p.m.)

  • Parade route: Fort Pierce Inlet from south of South Causeway Bridge to north of the bridge, turning around at Square Grouper Tiki Bar

  • Best viewing spots: Causeway Park, Summerlin Dock, River Walk

Indian River County Christmas Boat Parade

  • Start time: 6 p.m. Dec. 16 (assembles 5:30 p.m.)

  • Parade route: Indian River Lagoon from north of Barber Bridge to Vero Beach City Marina, turns south to MacWilliams Park, under bridge to Quail Valley River Club, turns north to Youngs Park in The Fingers neighborhood, ends at Royal Palm Pointe

  • Best viewing spots: Vero Beach City Marina, Royal Palm Pointe, Barber Bridge

Martin County Christmas Boat Parade

  • Start time: 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16 (assembles 6 p.m.)

  • Parade route: St. Lucie River from downtown Stuart public docks to Manatee Pocket

  • Best viewing spots: Stuart Riverwalk, Sandsprit Park, Stuart Causeway
