Christina Hall says her ‘house feels like home’ in candid update after split from Josh Hall
HGTV star Christina Hall is giving an update on her family a month after she and husband Josh Hall split up.
In an Instagram story published Aug. 9, the 41-year-old wrote that she’s had some of her “best nights” recently, adding that she will “never ever give away my peace again.”
“One month later....I finally have my appetite back. I’m exercising again. My kids are happy & our house feels like home,” she began. “‘Those poor kids’ adore me.. anyone who knows us for real knows this and that’s what matters.”
“I’ve had some of my best nights with friends recently ... laughed more than I have in forever. Work is going so good it feels like a dream. I have a life coach and I made myself a promise — I will never ever give away my peace again.”
She continued, “I will say — if you’ve ever lost peace and gained it back there is a new level of gratitude for every single moment of life. A huge level of appreciation for the present moments & being present. If that’s the lesson I’ll take it. When you have a positive mindset the rest will work itself out like it always does.”
Josh Hall filed for divorce from the “Christina on the Coast” star on July 15 in Orange County, California, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to court documents obtained by TODAY.com.
Though the pair went public with their marriage in April 2022, the documents reveal that they actually tied the knot on Oct. 6, 2021, just two weeks after Christina Hall announced their engagement on Instagram.
TODAY.com has reached out to both Christina and Josh Hall for comment.
On Aug. 3, in his first Instagram post since filing for divorce, Josh Hall said he “will not publicly badmouth anyone as people have families, friends and others who respect and love them.”
"I prefer privacy, especially during something as life changing as a divorce I did not ask for," he captioned a photo of him and a dog. "We are real humans, this is our life and I am not here to entertain people I don’t know with my private matters. Those details will be handled fairly behind closed doors with our respective counsels in due time. Those who know each of us, know who we are."
News of the pair's impending divorce comes two months after HGTV announced the couple would star alongside Christina Hall's ex-husband and former "Flip or Flop" co-star, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, in a new home renovation series called “The Flip Off.”
The program is slated to premiere in early 2025, but Heather Rae El Moussa told E! News that Josh Hall will no longer be part of the show.
Christina Hall, her ex-husband and his wife promoted the series in a May 15 Instagram video that jokingly highlighted the physical resemblance between the two women, who both have long blond hair.
Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa split in December 2016 after seven years of marriage. The pair, who share a daughter, Taylor, 13, and a son, Brayden, 8, remained the co-stars of "Flip or Flop" until March 2022.
Christina Hall was also previously married to British television personality Ant Anstead from December 2018 until September 2020. The former couple share a 4-year-old son named Hudson.
Christina Hall previously said her connection to Josh Hall was "impossible to ignore" when they first met.
“I felt immediately crazy protective over him and wanted to keep him for myself and get to know each other before the tornado (media attention) hit,” she wrote in a July 2021 Instagram post that has since been deleted.
In March 2024, Josh Hall posted several photos on Instagram with his wife.
The caption reads, “Still going strong.”
