Christina Hendricks Flaunts Her 'Extraordinary' Period Costumes in New Photos

Christina Hendricks—who gained fame for her portrayal of the character Joan Harris in the 1960s-set period TV series Mad Men—took a moment to show off the detailed costumes in her new period show, The Buccaneers, which is set in the 1870s in London, England.
The actress posted some snaps from the set on Instagram on Wednesday, Nov. 15, writing in the caption, "Episode Four of #Buccaneers airs today on @appletv. Very proud of this episode and our beautiful camera work, extraordinary costumes and sets. A feast for the eyes!"
She also tagged a bunch of people involved with the Apple TV+ series.
In the first photo, Hendricks is in costume as her character Mrs. St. George, wearing an elegant square-neck gown with a sheer layer underneath that extends to a ring of lace circling her neck. The elaborate skirt has a velvet top layer situated on her left side that matches the velvet cuffs of her sleeves. Meanwhile, Hendricks' curly red hair sits on her head in an updo with various accessories, including what looks to be a couple of feathers.
The other photos in Hendricks' update showcase more elegant looks from The Buccaneers, both for her character and her fellow cast members Kristine Froseth and Simone Kirby. Another photo shows Hendricks lying in the grass for a graceful selfie while her dog also joins her on set.
"You look incredible in these costumes! Hope they're not too uncomfortable!" wrote a fan, as another simply replied, "I'm dying…🔥💘."
Froseth commented as well, writing, "You smashed this episode!!!" and "👏👏👏👏," as Kirby said, "Love that long single take of you in this Ep. Beautiful stuff m’love x."
Fans were equally impressed with the show's newest episode, with one declaring, "you served on this episode QUEEN!!"
The Buccaneers premiered on Apple TV+ on Nov. 8 with the first three episodes, while the rest of season 1 will air weekly into December.
