Taylor Swift may be the most famous woman dating an NFL player right now, but she’s certainly not the only one. San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is also in a relationship with a celebrity: Olivia Culpo, the influencer, reality star and former pageant queen.
McCaffrey and Culpo met in 2019 after they were set up by mutual friends. Culpo had sworn off dating athletes after being linked to Ryan Lochte, Tim Tebow and Danny Amendola, but McCaffrey inspired her to break her own rule. "He's just the best, I feel like he is really everything that I could ever ask for," Culpo explained during a November 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight. "So I never have to worry about anything. I think that was the reason why I didn't want to date an athlete, no offense, because there is a reputation there."
McCaffrey so thoroughly won Culpo over that she said yes when he popped the question in 2023, and now she’ll be on hand to support him as the 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. “She’s sacrificed so much, and I think all the wives do, but it's tough especially in season, a lot of late nights, a lot of time at the facilities,” McCaffrey told reporters at a press conference in February 2024. “She obviously is so successful in the world right now in her career, and to see her support me the way she does it means the world to me … and hopefully I can return the favor.”
