Chris Pratt is sharing the sweet advice he received from his mother-in-law Maria Shriver.

While appearing on Today on Thursday, May 23, the Garfield actor, 44, was asked by co-host Hoda Kotb if he ever turns to Shriver for any parenting advice. Pratt shares his two daughters Eloise Christina, 2, and Lyla Maria, 3, with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, 34, and is also dad to son Jack, 11, from a previous relationship.

"Oh my gosh. I mean, she’s like a living saint. I feel that. And she’s funny and accessible and brilliant. She’s so involved in the lives of her children," Pratt says.

"She’s raised four — she and Arnold [Schwarzenegger] — have raised four amazing kids. And that’s not always an easy thing to do. You see people in Hollywood or people who’ve got like, a lot of privilege, and they end up kind of raising rotten kids. So I just want to kind of ask her everything. ‘What’d you do? How did you not spoil them? How did you not ruin them?’”

When asked about Shriver's response, Pratt says he's gotten a wealth of advice from the mom of four.

“I think she holds them accountable. You know, when Maria walks in the room, you stand up. She’s big on manners and she’s big on accountability," the proud dad shares. "And she’s deeply rooted in her faith and these are all things that I definitely want to take and implement in the rearing of our children.”

In November, Schwarzenegger Pratt opened up about her daughters' close relationship with Shriver while speaking to PEOPLE at the launch party of the Cleobella x Katherine Schwarzenegger collection.

"I feel like it's always a milestone,” the eldest daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger told PEOPLE. “My mom and my older daughter, Lyla, try to do everything matching. So I'm really excited as we go into this holiday season that they have another outfit to be matching in, because they are very connected in that way.”

As for Eloise, the mom of two said she is “just growing so quickly” — “and also trying to copy everything that her big sister does.”

“So these matching outfits make a very easy milestone moment of them also entering into their own personalities, which reminds me a lot of my sister and I as we were growing up,” she said, adding: “also just documenting everything as a mom is fun.”
