Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson reunite for new Transformers movie
Avengers stars Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson have reunited for a brand-new Transformers movie, but not the one you were expecting.
While there is a new live-action instalment, Rise of the Beasts, on the way, it's been announced that a star-studded animated prequel called Transformers One is also coming.
As reported by Variety, Hemsworth will be voicing a young Optimus Prime, while Johansson will be playing fellow Autobot warrior Elita.
Further cast members include Eternals' Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron, Parks and Rec's Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Top Gun: Maverick's Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and The Matrix's Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion.

The cast was announced at Cinema Con by Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation president Ramsey Naito, who is quoted as saying: "I’m so excited and proud to be working with Hasbro and eOne to bring the first animated Transformers movie to theatres for a never-before-told story.
"I’m honoured to have such incredible talents come together to portray these well-known and much-loved characters in an origin story at the heart of the franchise."
As well as its big-name voice cast, the film has roped in Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley to helm, with Steven Spielberg producing.

Back on the live-action side of the franchise, seventh entry Rise of the Beasts will be out in just a few months. The humans will be played by Hamilton's Anthony Ramos and Swarm's Dominique Fishback, while Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson, and Ron Perlman are amongst the stars lending their voices to the various Autobots, Decepticons and Maximals.
Transformers One will be released in cinemas on July 19, 2024.
