Extraction 2 is coming to Netflix this June and we've finally got the first trailer for Chris Hemsworth's action sequel.

The new movie brings back black ops mercenary Tyler Rake (Hemsworth) who was left in a pretty bad way in Extraction. It was confirmed back in September 2021 that Rake had survived to fight another day.

Now that day has arrived as Rake is faced with another deadly mission to rescue the family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held. We're sure it'll pass with no trouble whatsoever...

Check out the first trailer for Extraction 2 below:

We knew that the trailer was coming today after Hemsworth teased its arrival yesterday (April 2) on Instagram.

In a short promotional video posted by both Netflix and Hemsworth, He told fans: "You didn’t think he could be stopped, did you? Tyler Rake lives. The Extraction 2 teaser trailer drops tomorrow."

The video didn't show any footage from the sequel, but had images of the message "Tyler Rake lives" being displayed around the world as part of the movie's marketing campaign.

The first movie featured Hemsworth as black market mercenary Tyler Rake, who was tasked with rescuing the kidnapped son of an imprisoned, fearsome crime lord.

The movie performed well for Netflix and, at the time, became the streaming service's biggest movie of all time. That meant a sequel was fast-tracked and it started filming in 2021, with a short teaser released in the same year.

Extraction 2 will arrive on Netflix on June 16, so get that date marked in your diaries right now.

Avengers: Endgame director Joe Russo, who co-wrote and produced the first movie, last year talked about how this upcoming second instalment would differ from the first entry.

"It's great. It's very different from 'Extraction 1', which we like. It's its own movie in that regard," Russo said.

"It has a different colour schematic. It's set in a different part of the world. It has a different pace, a different tone than the first one. And that, to us, is an interesting way to approach serializing a story is that it's more surprising and unexpected, and you're not going to get the exact same movie that you got the last time."

Extraction 2 is released on Netflix on June 16. The first movie is streaming now on Netflix.
