Chittenden County restaurant closes permanently after co-owner suffers stroke

WILLISTON — A Chittenden County restaurant announced its permanent closure March 26 after a co-owner suffered a stroke.

Pho K&K, the Maple Tree Place eatery that was in business for a decade, served the brothy Vietnamese noodle soup that gave the restaurant its name, as well as dishes including stir fries and dumplings. The restaurant was owned by Khahn Le and his wife, Khahn Pham, according to one of their three children, Kim Le.

Khahn Le dealt primarily with customers while Kim Le said her mother typically did the cooking at Pho K&K.

The restaurant announced last week on social media that it would be “closed until further notice due to a family emergency.” Pho K&K followed that with the March 26 post that said due to “unforeseen circumstances, we will be permanently closed. We appreciate all of your business and loyalty over the past 10 years.”

A subsequent post March 26 elaborated on the reasons for the restaurant’s closure.

“We appreciate all the support and concern we’ve received over the past week,” the post reads. “As a courtesy, we’d like to inform you that the owner of Pho K&K, our father, had a stroke and is receiving care at the hospital. Our family is with him and we hope that he can be well again soon. Please keep him in your thoughts.”

Other restaurants to close in March in Chittenden County include Little Morocco Cafe in Burlington and Cody's Irish Pub & Grille in Essex.
