Chipotle is planning a Hope Mills location. Here’s where you may soon be able to order a burrito

Mexican fast-casual chain Chipotle is planning its first Hope Mills location.

Town officials approved plans for a 2,492-square-foot store at 2814 Town Center Drive, according to an April 15 town manager’s report.

Chipotle would be one of two restaurants in the proposed structure on a vacant 1-acre parcel next to Taco Bell and across from the Rockfish Commons shopping center.

Also shown in the plans submitted to the town is a 2,492-square-foot space for an unnamed restaurant.

Chipotle, which has more than 3,000 locations nationwide, is not the only chain eyeing the former mill town. Culver’s is planning a South Peak Drive store, and Wawa may come to Chicken Foot Road.

Project developer Mount Oak Capital Partners, based in Texas, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.

The town of Hope Mills did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.

Chipotle did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.
