It's been 10 years since Fixer Upper first aired, and Chip and Joanna Gaines are still going strong. They return to TV on June 2 with a special new series, Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse. The Magnolia duo previously renovated a castle and a hotel, but this "seriously outdated" 1960s lakefront property brings its own set of challenges.
The official Magnolia Instagram account shared some behind-the-scenes photos of the brick home, including one of a grungy pool in need of attention.
Chip and Jo shared a clip from the upcoming series, complete with footage of Chip wielding a sledge hammer and getting excited about demo day. Joanna explains, "There's something about it that just feels significant that this project lands on our 10-year Fixer anniversary." She continues, "I love this house. I love this view. I walk in and it's like, 'Boom, showstopper.'" She shares sneak peeks of picking out paint colors and flooring based on the home's historical style.
Fans ran to the comments section to leave their thoughts about the new show:
"Chip, don’t hurt yourself! Excited for the show!!"
"👏👏👏👏 Woooooo! Can’t wait! Calendar reminder on!"
"BEST DAY!!! 💥💥💥"
"I wish things were saved, instead of being smashed into pieces. I so love what they do, except the destruction of good [materials]"
The show debuts on Sunday, June 2, with two episodes, followed by two episodes on Sundays through June 16. Viewers can watch Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse on Magnolia Network or HGTV or stream on Max and discovery+.
