Child falls from second-story window in Middletown, police say

A child was rushed to a hospital after falling out of a window Wednesday night, police said.

Authorities said they were called to the Williamsburg Place Apartments on Jackson Lane in Middletown after the child fell from the second floor of a building.

Neighbors told WLWT that the young boy fell about 12 feet out of a window on the back side of the building.

Below the window is a concrete walkway.

One neighbor said he had heard that the child dropped a toy out of the window, and when he looked down at it, he fell out, too.

"I was playing dominoes with my wife outside, and I see the father with the child in his hands. I ask him what's going on. He told me that the little child went down from the window from a second floor house, and he's bleeding from the head," neighbor Jose Torres said.

Authorities said the child was then taken to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
