Chiefs rookie cornerback Trent McDuffie makes his return to live action on Sunday Night Football. And newcomer wide receiver Kadarius Toney is available to play, too.

McDuffie, who was activated from injured reserve earlier in the week, was not among the six players the Chiefs designated as inactive for Sunday night’s game against the Tennessee Titans at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

McDuffie landed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury days after the Chiefs’ season-opening win over the Arizona Cardinals. He is expected to resume his starting position alongside L’Jarius Sneed in the team’s 4-3 base defensive scheme.

Rookie Jaylen Watson will likely enter the game to play outside when the Chiefs are in a nickel package, with Sneed sliding inside to the slot.

Toney will be available for his first snaps with the Chiefs. Toney joined the Chiefs via a trade during the team’s Week 8 bye and participated in three days of practice leading up to this weekend.

How much Toney plays on offense remains to be seen, but he’s also an option as a punt returner if the Chiefs elect to use him over rookie wide receiver Skyy Moore, who has two muffed punts this season.

In other injury news with kickoff approaching, defensive end Mike Danna (calf) returns to action after not playing in Week 7. Tight end Jody Fortson (quad), running back Ronald Jones, quarterback Shane Buechele, defensive end Joshua Kaindoh, rookie offensive lineman Darian Kinnard and rookie defensive back Nazeeh Johnson are inactive.

The Chiefs on Saturday elevated wide receiver Marcus Kemp from their practice squad to the active 53-player roster. Kemp will provide depth to the wide receiver corps and contribute on special teams. With Fortson not playing, Kemp coud also fill in as the Chiefs’ third tight end as necessary.

For the Titans, quarterback Ryan Tannehill (ankle), fullback Tory Carter, defensive back Ahmani Hooker, offensive lineman Jordan Roos, defensive lineman Kevin Strong and defensive lineman Sam Okuayinonu are inactive.
