Chiefs Kingdom, here are 49er celebrity fans to boycott this week. (Kidding. Kind of)

Celebrity watchers are about to have a field day with the Super Bowl on Sunday because the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers both have deep rosters of famous fans.

Clash of the celebrity supporters?

Most eyes will be on a certain new Chiefs fan expected to show up after her concert in Tokyo.

Then it’s anyone’s guess who will be in Las Vegas. What A-listers will wear Chiefs red at Allegiant Stadium? Brad Pitt? Jason Sudeikis? Melissa Etheridge? Paul Rudd and Eric Stonestreet, who have been to the Super Bowl before?

Maybe Harris Faulkner or Steve Doocy from Fox News Channel? Both are Chiefs fans. Faulkner’s love goes back to her anchor days at WDAF-TV. She sang the national anthem at a Chiefs game back in the day, too.

And who will cheer for the 49ers?

Let’s take a look.

Jeremy Renner

The “Hawkeye” star from Modesto, California, who was seriously injured last year in a snowplow accident, defines die-hard fan. He stars in a Super Bowl ad for Silk this year and plans to take time out from filming the third season of his thriller, “Mayors of Kingstown,” to go to Vegas.

Julia Roberts

The “Pretty Woman” star shared some pretty thoughts about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in an interview after watching the QB’s Netflix documentary, “Quarterback.”

Now Roberts, a longtime 49ers fan, admires Mahomes, too.

Guess she can’t lose on Sunday.

Huey Lewis

Did we know this?

That back in 1986, the frontman for Huey Lewis and the News used 49ers players as backup vocalists? It began a decades-long mutual admiration society between the pop singer and the team, as told by the website Ultimate Classic Rock.

Lewis, born in New York, grew up in San Francisco and lived in the Bay Area in the early days of his career. The News surged during the team’s Joe Montana days.

Lewis became friends with Montana, coach Bill Walsh and other players, leading to the band traveling to the Super Bowl on the team’s plane a couple of times. The hitmakers returned the favor by having players sing on the hit “Hip to be Square.”

Montana sang. He said later he thinks they turned off his mic.

Dana Carvey

The comedian grew up in the Bay Area, so his ties run deep.

He filmed an HBO comedy special in San Francisco in 1995 and earned a roar from the crowd by raising his arms like Rocky Balboa and screaming: “Well, all I can say to you folks is: (Bleeping) 49ers!”

“The most surefire response you can get in San Francisco,” he laughed after the applause died down.

Well isn’t that special?

Andy Samberg

Another California native, Samberg has been a 49ers fan his whole life. He wore a custom jersey in February 2020, the last time the team was in the Super Bowl.

Alas, it wasn’t a lucky jersey. The Chiefs won that year.

Matt Bomer

The “White Collar” star was at the NFC Championship Game last month in a custom jean jacket and 49ers jersey. “Thank you @49ers for an unforgettable game, and lifelong memory,” he wrote on Instagram. “See you at the Super Bowl! @levis #FTTB #doitforthebay.”

Harry Shum Jr.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” star and “Glee” alum has been a fan since moving to San Francisco with his family when he was 6. He wore a “Faithful to the Bay” jacket at a home game last month.

He’s involved in a friendly rivalry with Grey’s” cast mate Anthony Hill, who cheers for the Chiefs. Actually, most of the cast are Chiefs/Taylor Swift fans.

Saweetie

The rapper from Santa Clara, California — where the team plays in Levi’s Stadium — released a hype song for the team, “Do It for the Bay.” She was busy on social media this past season posting photos of herself at games using the slogan.

Tamera Mowry-Housley

The “Sister, Sister” star still cheers for her childhood team. After the NFC Championship Game last month she tweeted: “My heart forever belongs to the bay.”
