Chiefs fans shot off so many fireworks after Super Bowl that it lit up weather radar
Anyone in Kansas City who turned in early Sunday and hoped for a good night’s sleep likely had those plans dashed.
That’s because Chiefs fans all around the area celebrated the Super Bowl LVII victory with fireworks that boomed for well over an hour.
When Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ final pass fell harmlessly to the field at State Farm Stadium, the Chiefs had secured their 38-35 victory and the party started all over Kansas City shortly after 9 p.m.
The celebration was so epic that the National Weather Service radar detected the fireworks that lit the night sky.
The National Weather Service shared video of the radar and wrote: “I wonder what’s on the radar in Kansas City tonight. Definitely not rain…”
