Chiefs fans outside KC were furious when CBS Sports cut away from Sunday’s game
When a team has a 29-point lead in the fourth quarter, is that a good time for a network to switch to another game?
CBS Sports thought so, as viewers outside of the Kansas City area were dismayed to learn the network was cutting to the Raiders-Chargers game in Los Angeles. With the Chiefs’ leading 44-15 at the time, that decision makes sense because the game between the AFC West teams was close.
However, that didn’t sit well with Chiefs fans in other parts of the nation who wanted to watch Kansas City close out its 44-21 victory in Glendale, Arizona.
Important note: Viewers in Kansas City saw the entire game.
But here is what some Chiefs fans not in Kansas City were saying about the CBS decision.
A fan in Jefferson, Wisconsin wrote to The Star: “We were very sick about this. You wait all week for a game and it’s just cut off.”
i missed it CBS put the Chiefs game back on

This seems like fraud @CBS & @nflcommish & @Chiefs
I pay for the RedZone Channel, NFL+, Paramount+ and YouTubeTV yet I couldn't watch the beginning of the Chiefs game today and now I can't watch the 4th quarter either?!?!?#ChiefsKingdom— Jason Looney (@jlooney2) September 11, 2022

@CBS Put the Chiefs game back on… I don’t want to watch the Raiders and the Chargers. There’s still 11 minutes left. Screw this. We should all turn it off. #gochiefs #chiefskingdom #kansascitychiefs

Hey @CBSSports @CBS first you cut off many from viewing the start of the @Chiefs game, then you drop many from watching the end! Stop the shadow ban CBS! #ChiefsKingdom

@CBS @CBSSports seriously? you leave the Chiefs/Cardinals game or a pathetic game NOBODY wants to watch between too sub par teams. Execs need to get their act together and quit changing mid games or maybe they need to be FIRED if they can't do their work correctly!

— Bamf (@ryenor1224) September 11, 2022
@CBSSports & @CBS - why did you just change the scheduled (published) TX NFL programming from the Chiefs/Cardinals to the Chargers/Raiders? Talk about underhanded, dirty, and causing people to go to Fox!
— Scott Fletcher (@SFletch548) September 11, 2022
@CBS doesn't show the @Chiefs game until 3 minutes left of 1st Quarter. Now they switch to the Chargers game with 11 minutes still left in the game. Thanks for showing us half a game.#ChiefsKingdom
