Chicken Run 2 lands strong Rotten Tomatoes rating after first reviews
The long-awaited Chicken Run sequel, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, has landed a strong Rotten Tomatoes rating after the first reviews from critics.
Directed by Sam Fell, the film follows the original 23 years later when Ginger and Rocky are led on new adventures with the arrival of their daughter, Molly.
The first reviews for Chicken Run 2 made their way to the review aggregator site after the sequel's premiere at the 67th London Film Festival this weekend, with its score currently sitting at an impressive 83% (from 12 reviews) as of this writing.

Critics have praised the film for its likability and modern family entertainment value despite its simple plot and significant cast changes.
Digital Spy branded the movie "a worthy follow-up" to the first, which has remained the highest-grossing stop-motion movie of all time, adding: "Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget might be halted from being a perfect sequel due to those big cast changes, yet it's still an excellent follow-up to the first movie that will delight fans and likely bring new ones into the flock."

The new cast includes Thandiwe Newton, who replaces Julia Sawalha as Ginger, and Zachary Levi, who replaces Mel Gibson as Rocky.
Bella Ramsey voices the pair's daughter, Molly, while Miranda Richardson and Jana Horrocks return as the iconic villain Mrs Tweedy and incessant knitter Babs, respectively.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will be released on Netflix on December 15.
