Chicken Run 2 confirms Netflix release date
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will be released just before Christmas on Netflix.
A launch date of December 15 was announced at Annecy International Animation Festival (via The Hollywood Reporter), with attendees also treated to a sneak peek of the stop-motion sequel.
A clip introduced Bella Ramsey's chicken Molly – daughter to Ginger (voiced by Thandiwe Newton, replacing Julia Sawalha) and Rocky (Zachary Levi, replacing Mel Gibson) – for the first time.

Captured and placed in the back of a truck along with a load of other chickens, Molly is driven out to a brand-new farm, leading to a classic Aardman chase scene as her parents set off in hot pursuit.
Dawn of the Nugget director Sam Fell, producer Leyla Hobart and Aardman Animations Ltd co-founder Peter Lord fronted the presentation.
Also in the British-heavy voice cast are comedian Romesh Ranganathan, David Bradley, Daniel Mays, Imelda Staunton and Nick Mohammed.

The sequel's synopsis reads: "Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy's Farm, Ginger has finally found her dream – a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger's happy ending seems complete.
"But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk – this time, they're breaking in!"
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget comes to Netflix on December 15.
