'Chicago P.D.'s Tracy Spiridakos Melts Hearts With Birthday Tribute to Jesse Lee Soffer

Fans of Chicago P.D. have shipped actors Tracy Spiridakos and Jesse Lee Soffer for quite some time. Their characters, Hailey Upton and Jay Halstead, were partners and eventually lovers on the NBC police procedural, after all. So it came as little surprise when Spiridakos' birthday tribute to Soffer practically made viewers swoon.

On Tuesday, April 23, Spiridakos, 36, took to Instagram to send well-wishes to her former partner against crime on the day he turned 40.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY @jesseleesoffer 🥳🥳🥳🥳," she captioned the post featuring a selfie of the duo.

In the comments, Instagram users' hearts practically melted. One fan declared, "OH MY GOD 🥹🥹🥹," while another exclaimed, "MY H[E]ART STOPPED."

Randy Flagler, who portrays Harold Capp in Chicago Fire, commented, "Love it," while a Chicago P.D. fan wrote, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ♥️ HALSTEAD."

Yet another person shared, "Happy Birthday wishes going out to Jesse today! 🎈 What a wonderful photo of both of you."

In January, the New York Post reported that Spiridakos and Soffer were dating. Neither actor has confirmed the report. However, a source told the publication that they have "secretly been together for years."

Spiridakos and Soffer starred in Chicago P.D. for six years. From Season 1 to early Season 10, Soffer played a starring role in the series. Spiridakos played a recurring role starting in Season 4 before snagging a main cast part in Season 5; Season 11 will be her last.

Chicago P.D. airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. Viewers can also stream the show the following day on Peacock.
