This chic Texas estate was once owned by popular former NBA player. Now it’s for sale

This sophisticated estate with a link to the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs has landed on the real estate market in Shavano Park, Texas, for $2.195 million.

The six-bedroom, five-bathroom residence was formerly owned by ex-Spur power forward Matt Bonner, who won two NBA championships with the team, listing agent Shyler Leon told McClatchy News.

Sitting over one acre, the 6,144-square-foot residence is just as beautiful on the outside as it is on the interior, the photos on Sabor.com show.

“An undeniably unique and most stunning estate situated on over an acre in Shavano Park,” the listing says. “One of the only homes styled by Jill Giles, a highly esteemed designer of San Antonio’s iconic Hotel Emma, and flawlessly redesigned by Sawdon Homes.

No attention to detail or craftsmanship overlooked, from a full guest suite addition, to designer lighting fixtures, sourced antique accents, lacquered custom cabinetry, and eye-catching cement tile.”

Fine amenities of the home include:

  • Three living areas

  • Private balcony

  • Formal dining room

  • Chef’s kitchen

  • Large primary suite

  • Custom pool

  • Stone grotto

There’s even a court that has the Spurs logo, the listing says.

The 6’10” former player was nicknamed the “Red Mamba” who helped lead the Spurs to two championships in 2006 and 2014, PlayersBio says. He played college ball at the University of Florida and also played for the Toronto Raptors. He retired in 2017.

Shavano Park is about 15 miles northwest of San Antonio.
