The Chi Renewed for Season 7 at Showtime, Ahead of Season 6 Return
Paramount+ With Showtime is staying put in The Chi a while longer, renewing the drama for a seventh season, TVLine has learned.
The pickup comes just days before The Chi resumes Season 6, returning on Friday, May 10, via Paramount+ With Showtime (the streaming service plan). The linear return will then follow on Paramount+ With Showtime (the premium cable channel formerly known as Showtime) on Sunday, May 12, at 9/8c.

Diaz, president of content and chief creative officer at Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. “On the heels of a record-breaking season and ahead of this week’s return, we’re excited to provide fans with the promise of more — ensuring that they can continue to enjoy the raw, emotional stories and unforgettable characters that have made this seminal series a resounding success for Showtime.”
Production on Season 7 will begin later this month in Chicago. The series currently stars Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Birgundi Baker, Luke James and Curtiss Cook.
