Cheryl Hines Reveals What Her First Priority in Office Would Be If She Becomes First Lady (Exclusive)
Cheryl Hines has an idea of how she would tackle the job of first lady if her husband were to become president.
Speaking with ET's Denny Directo at the season 12 premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm, the actress, 58, set out her top priority items should husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. win the election in November.
"World peace and world happiness," the Curb Your Enthusiasm star said sarcastically. "Listen, I'm ready [for] whatever comes. I'm ready for it."
Kennedy -- whose father, Robert F. Kennedy, was assassinated while running his own presidential campaign in 1968 -- is currently running as an independent to become the next president of the United States. He is the nephew of the 35th president, John F. Kennedy.
During a recent candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Hines described what it has been like watching the entire "fascinating" situation unfold from the "hurricane's eye." For her, that includes heightened precautions as the wife of a Kennedy and one running for president, at that.
"I’m taking more precautions than ever," Hines told the outlet, detailing a recent incident at their home. "I was here doing an Instagram Live, and I look out the window and see a guy in our backyard. Then I see our security person intercept him and reach for his weapon."
Hines and Kennedy wed in August 2014, nearly three years after they began dating in December 2011. It's the actress' second marriage -- her first was to producer Paul Young, with whom she shares daughter Catherine Young. Meanwhile, Hines is Kennedy's third wife.
Overall, it's a season of change for Hines. The upcoming 12th and final season -- which marks more than 20 years alongside Larry David on the hit HBO series -- is bittersweet for the working mom, who started Curb Your Enthusiasm before her daughter was around.
"She [Catherine] was not born when I started working on Curb. We were talking about that in the car ride, it's kind of hard to believe," Hines tells ET, adding that her daughter -- whom she brought to the premiere -- grew up on the set.
The actress says she will mostly miss the fun and the improvisation of the show -- which she described as feeling like she was "at summer camp" -- and adds that there isn't much she won't miss about being on set with her TV family.
"We just had so much fun together, you know? Because it was improvised we just -- everything was loose and fun and I felt like I was at summer camp," Hines says of the show, which premiered in October 2000. "I'll miss everything."
As far as whether or not fans of the lovable curmudgeon and his crew will be happy with the series' end, she thinks it will be a satisfying finale for the true lovers of the show.
"I think they'll be very satisfied, I think some people are never happy no matter what," she says. "I don't know, I think people will absolutely love watching this season."
The final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm premieres on HBO and Max on Feb. 4.
