Chase Bank to open its first East Tennessee branches in Knoxville and Maryville

The country's biggest bank is finally coming to East Tennessee.

JPMorgan Chase, or Chase Bank, is the biggest bank in America with nearly $3.4 trillion in assets, according to Forbes Advisor. It boasts a vast network of over 4,800 physical branches and more than 15,000 ATMs.

Now, following aggressive expansion in the Nashville area and new locations in Memphis, Chase is set to open three branches in the Knoxville area this year.

“The people of Tennessee have welcomed Chase with open arms, and we’re excited to bring our branch expansion to Knoxville,” A.D. Lavalle, market director banking for Chase in East Tennessee, said in an email.

Two branches are under construction and are set to open this spring, a spokesperson confirmed to Knox News. The first, at 11242 Kingston Pike in Farragut, will open in April. A Maryville branch will open at 503 Foothills Plaza in May. The third location has yet to be determined, but Chase plans to open as many as six branches total in East Tennessee by the end of 2026.

Chase Bank to open more than 500 branches and hire 3,500 employees by 2027

Chase is the U.S. consumer and commercial banking business of JPMorgan Chase & Co., a global financial services firm with operations worldwide, the firm says.

Chase has the largest branch network in the United States and is the only bank to have branches in all lower 48 states, a Chase spokesperson said in a press release.

Over the past five years, Chase has added more than 650 branches, including 400 locations in 25 new states. In 2020, Chase kicked off an expansion spree in Nashville, opening two branches in July and planning eight by the end of the year. By October 2023, the bank had 19 branches in the greater Nashville area. Chase opened two locations in Memphis in August 2023, with plans to open five more by the end of 2025.

In early February, Chase announced it will open more than 500 new branches nationwide and hire 3,500 employees over the next three years, entering several new markets and expanding its footprint in its current locations
