Packers DB Charles Woodson celebrates a pick-6.

For the first time in months, Aaron Rodgers spoke publicly about his conflict with the Packers franchise during a training camp press conference on Wednesday.

After weeks of speculating about what the reigning league MVP was thinking, it was nice to hear things straight from the source.

Green Bay legend Charles Woodson echoed that sentiment with a tweet on Wednesday night.

“Happy to hear @AaronRodgers12 speak and tell what he was feeling in his own words rather than all of the back and forth we’ve been doing the last couple months,” the recent Hall-of-Fame inductee wrote.

Showing up to Packers training camp after skipping out on all offseason activities, Rodgers opened up about his frustrations with the organization that drafted him 17 years ago. In addition to concerns about his role within the franchise’s decision making process, the three-time All-Pro QB also called out the front office for the way they treated other Green Bay greats in their final years with the team — listing the former players he felt were wronged.

Woodson was the first name on his list.

After suffering a broken collar bone in 2012 (his seventh year with the Packers), Woodson was released in 2013 to avoid a $9 million cap hit. With three solid years remaining on his 18-year NFL career, it’s now clear that the Packers could’ve held on to their superstar DB.

Rodgers and Woodson were teammates from 2006-12. The all-time great QB maintains that the retired four-time All Pro is one of the best players he’s ever suited up with.

While for now it appears Rodgers will take the field for Green Bay in 2021, his longterm future is still very much in jeopardy.
