What channel is the U.S. Open on today? TV coverage, how to watch first round

The third major on the men's professional golf calendar tees off Thursday morning, as the 124th U.S. Open gets underway at Pinehurst No. 2 in the North Carolina Sandhills.

The top two players in the world have claimed the first two majors on the calendar; Scottie Scheffler running away with the Masters Tournament and the green jacket, while Xander Schauffele won his first major in dramatic fashion last month at the PGA Championship.

Can either of them add another major to their ledger? Can a past U.S. Open champion, like Bryson DeChambeau or Brooks Koepka, get back to the winner's circle? What about an upset on the domed greens of Donald Ross? Here's what you need to know as Round 1 tees off Thursday.

What channel is the U.S. Open on today? TV coverage for first round

TV Channel: USA

Stream: FuboTV

U.S. Open coverage begins on television Thursday morning at 6:30 on USA Network, and runs on that channel until 5 p.m.

Fans can also listen to Sirius XM Radio for coverage, or on USOpen.com and the USGA app, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday's second round is on Peacock from 6:30 a.m.-1 p.m. before jumping to NBC from 1-7 p.m.

On Saturday, USA Network has TV coverage from 10 a.m.-noon before NBC has eight hours of coverage until 8 p.m.

Sunday's final round will be on USA from 9 a.m.-noon and on NBC from noon-7 p.m.

U.S. Open livestream today

You can can stream the USA Network coverage by using your TV provider credentials or on Fubo, which carries USA Today and the NBC family of networks and offers a free trial to users.

The final three hours of coverage of Thursday's opening round of the U.S. Open, as well as the start of Friday's round, can be livestreamed through Peacock.

Tiger Woods tee time today

Tiger Woods will start the 2024 U.S. Open at 7:29 a.m. on hole No. 10 on Thursday.

Woods, along with Will Zalatoris and former U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, will tee off at 1:14 p.m. from No. 1 on Friday.

Featured groupings for the U.S. Open go off from 7:27-7:49 a.m. in the morning wave, and 1:12-1:34 p.m. in the afternoon wave.

In the morning session, those groups include Woods' group, followed by Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Brooks Koepka, and then Tony Finau, Ludvig Aberg and Dustin Johnson.

In the afternoon, the world's top three players are together (Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy), followed by Bryson DeChambeau, Viktor Hovland and Max Homa, then Hideki Matsuyama, Jordan Spieth and Jackson Suber, who replaced Jon Rahm (withdrew Tuesday).
