The Nittany Lions are looking to ensure next Saturday's matchup against Michigan retains the high stakes for both programs it's expected to have, but James Franklin's program cannot afford to overlook a Maryland team that is looking to earn bowl eligibility after dropping its last three games.
Drew Allar threw for 210 yards against the Hoosiers, his highest total since Week 1 against West Virginia, with that number being helped along by a 57-yard touchdown pass to KeAndre Lambert-Smith to seal the game away. He had three touchdowns overall in the game, and will look to continue that momentum against Maryland.
Taulia Tagovailoa has slowed down for Maryland in recent weeks, but defense has been a bigger issue for the Terrapins. Maryland has given up 27 points to Illinois and 33 points to Northwestern in the past two weeks. Penn State has the firepower to put up similar numbers.
