Juwan Howard and Michigan (6-7, 1-1 in Big Ten play) will face off against Minnesota (10-3, 1-1) on Thursday hoping to turn around what has been a thus-far disappointing season, one punctuated with losses to Long Beach State, a double-overtime loss to Florida and a defeat by McNeese State.
Both teams have shown themselves to be proficient offensively this season, with Michigan averaging 83.2 points per game and Minnesota scoring 80.5 points per game. The Wolverines will have to contend with Minnesota's 6-foot-11 Dawson Garcia, who leads the Golden Gophers in scoring at 17.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game; he returned to the Golden Gophers' win vs. Maine after missing three prior games with an injury.
