Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz plans to use today's game as an indicator of what's to come in March.

The No. 23 Cardinals' first game of the month is at No. 17 Notre Dame for the regular-season finale. A win and N.C. State loss would make the Cardinals a No. 2 seed heading into the ACC Tournament. If U of L and the Wolfpack win, Louisville will be the 3-seed. A loss to Notre Dame drops the Cardinals to fifth place.

Though Louisville displayed strong effort in the 70-55 win over Florida State on Thursday, Walz wants to see if his team can sustain it.

"What's Sunday at Notre Dame gonna look like? That, to me, is what's going to start to tell the picture of where this team is going to be come NCAA Tournament," he said. "What are we going to do (in the) ACC Tournament as well?"

The rest between the two tournaments will be key for the squad, but getting there will require the endurance to start the month on a high note. Louisville is 5-7 at Notre Dame but has won eight of the last 10 meetings against the Fighting Irish. That includes a 73-66 victory over Notre Dame last month in Louisville.
