Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, injured his left knee late in the Jags' 37-20 win Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. C.J. Beathard would step in at QB if Lawrence is forced to miss his first game since turning pro, and Nathan Rourke could be activated off the practice squad to back up Beathard.
Lawrence's injury is untimely as the 4-2 Jaguars have won three games in a row. Travis Etienne has scored two touchdowns apiece in the past two games, while Christian Kirk and Calvin Ridley have developed into a dynamic receiving combo.
The Saints (3-3) are coming off a 20-13 loss to the Houston Texans. Derek Carr went 32 of 50 for 353 yards with a touchdown pass to Rashid Shaheed, but he also threw an interception on New Orleans' final drive. Receiver Chris Olave had seven catches for 96 yards but is dealing with a toe injury on the short week between games.
