Georgia softball survived and advanced in the Athens Regional with the aid of a walk-off hit by Dallis Goodnight against Liberty.

Goodnight's hit clinched the Bulldogs' 13th Super Regional appearance — and a matchup with No. 6 seed UCLA in the Los Angeles Super Regional. Game 1 is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles.

Georgia opened the Athens Regional with an 8-0 victory over UNC-Wilmington but lost its second game 7-3 to Liberty. The Bulldogs defeated Charlotte in an elimination game Saturday and then the Flames twice on Sunday to advance. The Bruins defeated Grand Canyon twice and Virginia Tech to go 3-0 in the Los Angeles Regional to move on as a host.

UGA has advanced to the Women's College World Series five times in program history, with the last coming in 2021, but has never won a title. UCLA has won a college softball-best 12 NCAA championships with the most recent coming in the 2019 season.

The Bulldogs are 1-6 all-time against the Bruins in the postseason. UGA's lone win came in the Super Regionals in 2005 when it won Game 1. The Bruins won the next two games by one run to advance. UCLA swept UGA in the 2008 LA Super Regionals. Georgia defeated UCLA 7-2 in Clearwater, Florida, earlier this season.
