What channel is Georgia vs. Florida on? Time, TV schedule for UGA football

Georgia football, the nation’s No. 1 ranked team, is back in action Saturday after an open date when it meets Florida in an SEC East clash in Jacksonville.

“It’s huge,” said Bulldogs cornerback Kamari Lassiter, a Savannah native. “Georgia-Florida is the rivalry for as long as I can remember. … Every year both teams, it’s one of those games you circle on both of our schedules.”

The game has been played annually at the neutral site since 1933 except for the 1994 and 1995 seasons when the stadium was undergoing construction.

“I know our guys will be excited to play in Jacksonville, an incredible stadium and atmosphere,” Georgia coach Kirby Smartt said. "It's just kind of different in terms of start, the fans, the split crowd. It seems to be a momentum-flow type game, because the team that has momentum is really at home for that moment. Then it goes back and forth. It's been a game of momentum swings.”

Georgia has had the momentum the last several years, winning five of the last six in the series.

Florida, led by Wisconsin transfer quarterback Graham Mertz, has won five of its last six games after a season-opening loss at Utah. It beat South Carolina 41-39 in its last game on Oct. 14 behind 423 yards passing and three TD passes.

Bulldogs first-year starting quarterback Carson Beck returns to his hometown of Jacksonville.

“He’s always lasered focused no matter the opponent,” Lassiter said. “I know it definitely means a lot to him going back to his hometown playing Florida.”
