Chalk it up to the right timing: Ambassador Hotel OKC changes restaurant concept

Café Cuvée has served its final meal at the Ambassador Hotel Oklahoma City as a new restaurant prepares to come online at the property.

The hotel at 1200 N Walker Ave. announced recently that the restaurant would close and confirmed in a release Monday that it will be welcoming The Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar, the same concept operating at its sister property in Tulsa, as its new restaurant.

The restaurant will feature nostalgic recipes that draw inspiration from global flavors with elevated comfort food infused with local flair alongside artisanal cocktails and a carefully curated wine selection.

“We take pride in celebrating our storied past at the Ambassador, and are looking forward to ushering in the future with the introduction of The Chalkboard,” said Jason Clark, General Manager at Ambassador Hotel. “The cherished tradition of breaking bread with loved ones resonates deeply within our societal fabric, and we look forward to welcoming both locals and visitors alike, whether for celebratory occasions or simply for the joy of gathering.”

What's on the new menu at The Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar at the Ambassador Hotel?

Some of The Chalkboard's menu highlights include:

  • The signature Chalkboard Wellington with house made bacon jam, mushroom duxelles, house gremolata and a rich demi glaze.

  • Chicken Ballotine stuffed with chorizo and bacon and served with sweet potato puree, broccolini and a decadent café au lait sauce.

  • Chalkboard Bread Pudding topped with a rich white chocolate ganache and fresh berries.

The Chalkboard will also offer a variety of classic and seasonal cocktails, including the Chalkboard Martini, featuring Grey Goose, filthy olive brine and filthy olives as well as aBlood Orange Negroni, made with Tanqueray, Campari, sweet vermouth and blood orange.
