National home decor and gift retailer Tuesday Morning is closing its last store in the Fresno area.

The Clovis location is in The Trading Post shopping center at the southeast corner of Herndon and Clovis avenues.

The stores specialize in discounted home goods, including lighting, kitchen items, bedding and candles.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Wednesday, the second time in three years.

The retailer has about 480 stores nationwide. At last 31 stores in California — and many more nationwide — will shut down during this round of closures.

It has not set a closing date, but bankruptcy filings say stores should take about eight weeks to close. Stores typically hold “going out of business” sales until they run out of merchandise.

The Fresno Tuesday Morning store, which was next to Trader Joe’s on Blackstone Avenue, and the Visalia location both closed in 2020. They were part of 230 stores that closed after the company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy that year, blaming its financial troubles on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stores chosen on the more recent closure list were considered underperforming or in low-traffic areas.
