Central Section Masters semifinals are set, but there was one surprise result
The Central Section wrestling Masters semifinals are set.
The first day of the Masters concluded at Buchanan High in Clovis on Friday and already Buchanan’s Rocklin Zinkin is moving on to the championship after his opponent Jermy Oani had a medical default at 108 pounds.
The surprising result of the day on Friday was when Clovis’ Jadyn Wren, seeded No. 2 at 115s, lost in the quarterfinals to No. 7 Caleb Rivas of Golden West, 5-1 in sudden victory. Wren was ranked sixth in the state by CalGrappler.
The championship semifinals will take place at 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Championship matches will start at 3:30 p.m.
