While celebrating the July Fourth holiday, here are a few rules and safety tips to follow to help you enjoy your celebration in the Myrtle Beach area.

Rules for fireworks in Myrtle Beach, SC

“Personal use of fireworks inside Myrtle Beach City limits are illegal,”according to City of Myrtle Beach website Selling, possessing or using inside the city of Myrtle Beach is illegal. It’s best to use your fireworks away from the beach in open spaces, where others will not be disturbed.

Fireworks are legal to buy year-round and not just on July 4th, as long as you are over 16 years old. “Local ordinances may differ, but all firework prohibited zones must be clearly marked with a 12″ x 12″ sign clearly stating that fireworks are prohibited.” according to Casey’s Fireworks located in Colombia.

Fireworks can be safe and fun to use as long as you use common sense practices, “always read and follow instructions on firework labels and shoot fireworks only under the supervision of an adult.” according to Casey’s Fireworks.

  • Broadway At The Beach - Fireworks start at 10 p.m. over Lake Broadway. They can be seen from various places around the complex, including bridges crossing the lake.

  • Cherry Grove Pier - Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach, Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. and can be seen from the beach and hotel balconies near the pier. You can bring your beach chairs and blankets to watch the fireworks from the beach.

  • Surfside Beach Pier - Surfside Beach Pier in Surfside Beach, Fireworks start at dark and can be seen from the beach and surrounding areas. You can bring your beach chairs and blankets to watch the fireworks from the beach.

  • Barefoot Landing - Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Watch from the Landing and surrounding areas around the complex.

  • Veterans Pier - Fireworks in Murrells Inlet at the end of Veterans Pier begin around 10 p.m. They can be observed from anywhere along the Marshwalk.
