Celebrate Día de Los Niños, La Union Maze spring fling and music exhibit this weekend

Día de Los Niños, which started in Mexico in 1925, is now widely celebrated along the borderland. In El Paso, there is usually a big Día de Los Niños event at Washington Park, where kids get free books. So plan on that this Saturday, April 26.

There are a few other ways to celebrate kids this weekend. The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso is hosting a fun race, and La Union Maze is celebrating spring and inviting families to come out this weekend.

The El Paso Museum of History Downtown is gearing up to celebrate musicians in El Paso with a special exhibit opening.

Celebrate Día de Los Niños at Washington Park

Families are invited to celebrate Día de Los Niños from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at Washington Park, 200 Washington St. The day will include activities, books, booths, and more. Admission is free.

DJ's Food Truck Park will have a Día de Los Niños party starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at12520 Glorietta Road in San Elizario.

Musica Sin Fronteras opens at History Museum

The El Paso Museum of History at 510 N. Santa Fe St. will open the Musica Sin Fronteras: Twentieth Century exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27. The exhibit will feature some dynamic musicians from El Paso. Free.

SunCycle celebrates SunCycle Trek & Trail Kick Off

SunCycle is excited about the launch of its first bikeshare station at Ascarate Park, near the Playa Drain Trail. The community is invited to the free SunCycle Trek & Trail Kick Off event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27. The event will take place near the main entrance of Ascarate Park. Highlights of the event include free snow cones, music, a scavenger hunt, games and the chance to win prizes.

La Union Maze plans a Spring Fling

La Union Maze plans to open with its 2nd Annual Spring Fling from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, April 27, and Saturday, May 4. 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday, April 28, and Sunday, May 5, at 1101 Highway 28 Anthony, New Mexico.

Most playground activities will be open, such as jumping pillows, slides, zip lines and mini-oat mazes for the little ones, will be open. The maze and pumpkin picking are unavailable (activities are reserved for their eight-week fall season). General admission will be $12.50 and ages 2-5 pay $5.50 via the website, www.launionmaze.com.

Outlet Shoppes celebrates Día de Los Niños with race

The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso and Corazon de Niños will have a Childrens Day Race and celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the outlet, 7051 S Desert Blvd. Canutillo. The event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization that helps fund heart surgeries for underprivileged local children. Cost for entrance is $10 and includes shirt, snack, juice and medal. Registration begins 9 a.m. and race 10 a.m. Ages 4-6 and 7-9 welcome.

A Corazon de Niño Heart Sculpture Ribbon Cutting will take place afterward.

Luis Miguel to perform two nights in El Paso

Latin singer Luis Miguel will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 and Thursday, May 2, at the Don Haskins Center. Tickets ranging from $256 to $377, excluding fees, are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Emmanuel coming to El Paso County Coliseum

Latin singer Emmanuel will perform on Friday, May 3, at the El Paso County Coliseum. Tickets, ranging from $49 to $199, plus fees, are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Celebrate Transportation Day in Las Cruces

Celebrate all things transportation at the Las Cruces Railroad Museum, 351 N Mesilla St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4. The event will be outdoors and include demonstrations, displays of adaptive bicycles and SWAT vehicles and activities. Admission will be free.

Xavi to perform at Plaza Theatre

Xavi, the corrido tumbados artist of the moment, is bringing his "Poco a Poco" Tour to El Paso. The singer will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the Plaza Theatre. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9 via Ticketmaster.com. Pre-sale tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8.
