While the holidays may be over, the spirit of Christmas will continue at First Christian Church's 40th Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival Saturday.

Hourlong performances will be held at 3, 5 and 7 p.m.

Since 1982, the First Christian Church started holding the festival recreating the feel of a "joyous feast" in an English manor with characters donning costumes from the 1350s.

The ancient Renaissance festival came to be after a tale was told during a feast at Oxford about a student's victory over a wild boar. The present-day event is a result of an amalgamation of several celebrations turned into a procession of dances, music and traditions.
