CCC candidates visiting Clovis

Mar. 12—The five finalists for the president's job at Clovis Community College are scheduled to make on-site visits beginning today.

Each finalist is expected to speak with college employee constituencies and the public, according to a CCC news release.

Candidates and the date they're scheduled to be on campus are:

— Jonathan Fuentes (today), vice president of academic partnerships at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas.

— Barbara Beebe (Thursday), president of Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas.

— Morgan Phillips (Friday), vice chancellor for academic excellence at Pima Community College in Tucson, Ariz.

— Christopher Breitmeyer (March 21), former president of Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Ore.

— Bryan Newton (March 22), vice president for enrollment management and student services at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Md.

Candidates are looking to fill the position last held by Charles Nwankwo who was placed on administrative leave in August 2022 and resigned in February 2023.

Candidate schedules, according to CCC:

8 a.m. — Candidate arrives and completes a campus tour.

9 a.m. — Faculty and staff forum in Room 101.

10:30 a.m. — Elected officials, Cannon Air Force Base and public forum in Room 512.

Noon — Lunch for candidate.

1:30 p.m. — Driving tour of Clovis.

2:30 p.m. — Interview with Board of Trustees in Room 512.

4 p.m. — Meet with executive team in Room 137.

5 p.m. — Candidate exits campus.

The CCC news release states: Each presidential finalist will participate in an open community forum at 10:30 a.m. in Room 512. The public is invited and encouraged to attend all open forums. There will be a brief introduction of the candidate, followed by a question-and-answer session. Feedback forms will be given to all who attend, and the completed forms will be given to the Board of Trustees for review.
