CBC volleyball team off to a blazing start with perfect 8-0 record

The Columbia Basin College volleyball team, under coach DiShondra Goree, continues its hot start out of the gate this season.

The Hawks went a perfect 4-0 at the Edmonds Invitational last weekend.

That gives CBC an 8-0 record so far in 2022.

At the tournament, the Hawks never lost a set.

Making the Edmonds first-team, all-tournament team for CBC was freshman outside hitter Caidence Taylor (Blackfoot, Idaho), and freshman receive specialist Hokulani Sagapolu (Utah).

CBC sophomore outside hitter Tamia Allen-Greggs (Eisenhower-Yakima) was named to the second team.

Bellevue College middle blocker Marin Mackey (Richland), a sophomore, also was named to the all-tournament first team.

The Hawks open up East Region play on Wednesday night at Spokane with a 6 p.m. start.

Then the team hosts Centralia, Rogue and Whatcom on Saturday and Sunday in an NWAC Crossover tournament.
