Casze Atelier Accuses Raylee Rukavina of Not Paying for Her Wedding Gown, Bride Shares a Different Story
The wedding dress drama first went viral after Casze accused bride Raylee Rukavina of not paying for her wedding dress
A feud between evening and bridal gown designer Casze Atelier and Colorado-based influencer Raylee Rukavina has gone viral after the brand accused her of having failed to pay for her wedding dress.
In a TikTok first posted on Aug. 23, designer Cenderra Ca'Zanthia accused Raylee of failing to pay for her wedding gown after she didn’t ship the dress back.
“Raylee has our dress and won’t pay us the balance,” she claimed in the caption of her video. “It’s a bridal gown and at this point she will not return or pay her balance.”
After several other videos were posted on Casze’s social media accounts calling out Raylee and her family, the bride responded in a two-part TikTok sharing her side of the story.
In the clip, Raylee shared several screenshots of her contract, which was written in February for the dress to be completed on Aug. 10, and several messages detailing the ongoing communication she said she tried to have with the brand and Cenderra, adding, “I never said I wasn’t going to ship the dress back and also never said I wouldn’t pay.”
Here’s everything to know about the drama between Raylee and Casze Atelier.
Who is Raylee Rukavina?
Raylee Rukavina is a 24-year-old influencer and hairstylist based in Colorado. She originally ordered a custom gown from Casze Atelier, an evening and bridal gown designer based in Atlanta, Ga, for her wedding which took place in August.
Casze’s designer, Cenderra Ca'Zanthia, accused Raylee of refusing to pay for the “rush order” on the dress after it was sent to her in August. However, Raylee later shared her contract with Casze in a TikTok video, claiming that the dress was not a rush order and was sent to her 12 days over the due date.
What is the drama between Raylee and Casze about her wedding dress?
In a TikTok shared on Aug. 23, Casze’s designer Cenderra Ca'Zanthia accused Raylee of failing to pay for her wedding dress from the brand. “Raylee has our dress and won’t pay us the balance,” she claimed in the caption “It’s a bridal gown and at this point she will not return or pay her balance.”
After Cenderra posted the initial video, she shared several follow-ups that called Raylee out for not paying for the dress, claiming that it cost her $12,500 in losses.
In another TikTok shared on Aug. 27, Cenderra explained that the dress was a “rush order” and she initially sent the dress to her “out of good faith” that Raylee would send the funds. The designer then claimed that Raylee and her mother did not answer after several follow-ups and she even flew out to try to retrieve the dress but was unsuccessful.
The designer then included a link to a now-deleted GoFundMe page to help make up for the loss of funds for the dress. She also shared Raylee’s social media pages – including her husband David Wells’ TikTok account – to potentially elicit a response from them.
What has Casze said about the drama?
In Cenderra’s initial TikTok, she claimed that after shipping out the dress to Raylee, the TikToker blocked her on all of her social media accounts.
In a TikTok shared on Aug. 27 detailing what she recalls of the whole situation, Cenderra wrote that “hundreds of hours dedicated work to complete the dress before time." She added that Raylee's actions also affected "all the people who helped create the couture dress !! Why take it and not pay or give it back?”
She explained that the dress was originally a “rush order” and she had reached out to Raylee and her family for payment ahead of shipping the dress. She said the dress was “overnighted” to Raylee and claimed the influencer and her family “ghosted” her after she sent the tracking information.
Cenderra alleged that Raylee and her family were non-responsive as the dress was shipped and only reached out when there was “an issue with the train.” In the video, she also explained that the money she requested on the now-deleted GoFundMe would be used to “fight back for the possession of the custom gown and/or payment for the final remaining balance due.”
What has Raylee said about the drama?
Raylee posted her two-part response on TikTok on Aug. 30, in which she pushed back on Cenderra’s claims.
The bride said that the dress was ordered in February, and not a “rush order” like Cenderra claimed. She then showed a bridal contract, which was signed six months before the wedding, and revealed the gown's cost as $6,290. Raylee also showed her receipt for paying 60 percent of the gown upfront to hold the dress.
Raylee recalls that she had an initial consultation and a fitting with Casze for the dress, however, she and Cenderra were supposed to hold a final Zoom call about the dress in June, which ended up being canceled last minute. Raylee claimed she followed up several times after that, asking to reschedule and for final photos of the dress but never received a response.
She claims that the dress was supposed to be delivered to Raylee by Aug. 10, but ended up arriving 12 days after the contracted date – and two days before her wedding.
When she tried on the completed dress, Raylee said it didn't meet her expectations, noting that it did not match the design discussed prior and was poorly constructed.
In her messages to the designer, which she shared on TikTok, Raylee said she would not be wearing the dress and would discuss sending it back the Monday after the wedding. The message also said she was “going to block her from now until after the wedding” so she could enjoy her happy day. After Cenderra posted her videos, Raylee said she and her family were flooded with hateful comments and messages.
“She posted her first video about me on TikTok… the night before my wedding.” she said. “So she knew I wasn’t going to wear it and that I was going to talk to her about shipping it back.”
“I never said I wasn’t going to ship the dress back and also never said I wouldn’t pay,” Raylee continued. “Instead of her talking to me on Monday, she instead went to social media and posted all of this stuff.”
Raylee added that she would like to resolve the matter "civilly and offline.”
