ST. JOSEPH COUNTY — We've reached the final poll for Footballer of the Week for this season. There have been many winners this year along the way as you have cast your vote (many, many times) for student-athletes and their solid performances.
This will be the last week for the poll as we have reached the playoffs. Because the list is not sponsored we are not obligated to run one during the playoffs and every team we cover does not have an opportunity to play this week.
Instead of voting for the Footballer of the Week in the post season, I (Brandon) will be choosing the winner. But a big thank you goes out to each and every voter who took the time to log their votes this past season whether it was just once or every single week.
Centreville Schools approves replacing aging bus
Here are the nominees for this week:
Calen Lane of White Pigeon with 164 yards and two touchdowns, Taylor Stewart of White Pigeon with 102 yards and three touchdowns. Centreville's Kam Wells accounted for five touchdowns in the Bulldogs' win on Friday and a pair of Marcellus players are up as Dawsen Lehew ran for 208 yards and two touchdowns while Cole Thornburgh caught two touchdowns as well.
Apologies go out to the Constantine Falcons, who were left off the list this week at the start. Neither of the Falcons put up for the award might win because of the head start, but that's on me. Apologies.
