The Cast of 'Grey's Anatomy' Celebrates Return to Work

At long last, the Grey's Anatomy cast is back to work. The actors spent Wednesday at a table read for the upcoming 20th season of the show.

Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo Wilson on the ABC series, shared celebratory photos on her Instagram Stories to mark the occasion. "I’m on my way to the table read for the new season and I don’t know if you guys can see, but it is raining in Los Angeles, which is really crazy," Luddington said. "I feel like the weather gods are on our side for Seattle once again." (The show, of course, takes place in Seattle.)

She also posted to her grid a shot of her and Chris Carmack a.k.a. Linc. Swoon!

Other cast members joined in on the fun, too. James Pickens Jr., who's portrayed Dr. Richard Webber since the start of the series in 2005, shared one of Luddington's post in his own IG Story. Adelaide Kane (Jules) uploaded a photo of her name card; Anthony Hill (Winston) posted a shot of a script; and Midori Francis (Mika) shared a group shot that included Jake Borelli (Levi), Jaicy Elliot (Taryn), Alexis Floyd (Simone), Niko Terho (Luca) and Harry Shum Jr. (Benson).

ABC has not announced a release date for the new season of Grey's Anatomy, as the network is still reworking its entire schedule given the massive production delays that resulted from the writers' and actors' strikes. But the show is expected to return, albeit with a truncated season, in early 2024.

Longtime cast members Chandra Wilson, Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone and even Kim Raver–whose character appeared to die at the end of Season 19—are all set to scrub in.
