A cash machine has been ripped from the wall of a Nationwide Building Society in a town, using a stolen forklift vehicle, police said.

Officers from Hertfordshire Police were called to Knight Street, in Sawbridgeworth, at about 05:30 BST on Tuesday.

The cashpoint was "pulled from the wall by a stolen telehandler" and loaded on to a white pickup truck, it added.

Three males fled the scene, leaving the forklift vehicle behind, police said.
