Casemiro's Cup Final injury confusion

Casemiro's Manchester United future is in huge doubt after his absence from the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

Manager Erik ten Hag said before the game at Wembley the Brazilian was not 100% fit but named him on the bench anyway after his recent outings in central defence.

However, although Casemiro's name appeared on the official team sheet, he told Ten Hag he felt a tight hamstring and told his manager he didn't want to play any part.

Casemiro was pictured with the FA Cup on the pitch at Wembley and he did sign a letter to supporters released by the United players on Sunday evening promising improved performances next season.

But although he did put in an appearance at the club's post-game party, he left quickly and was pictured on a private plane heading off on holiday with his family.

Casemiro has been left out of Brazil's Copa America squad in response to his poor form at United this season.

He is understood to be one of the players United would release as they look to raise funds for a summer squad building programme.

Casemiro has been long linked with a potential move to the Saudi Pro-League and that seems his most likely destination next season.
